August 15 – Iowa Chapter – Access Management and Complete Streets: Where Transportation Networks Meet Land Development – Speaker: Chris Albrecht – CM Pending
This session will cover basic principles of driveway and minor roadway access management and how these principles fit with current complete streets efforts. The goal of the session is to give planners a better understanding of commonalities between these concepts, as well as ways to integrate sound traffic management principles into land use and site design.
    ·         August 22 – Private Practice Division – Youth Engagement and Community Leaders – Speakers: Ramona Mullahey, Carol Myers Flaute, Sharon Speights Gibson, Grace Trimble – CM Approved
Youth planning programs can help communities shape the next generation of civic-minded citizens. Listen while experts from the Atlanta Regional Commission, the University of Georgia, and the University of Georgia’s Cooperative Extension describe three of the area’s youth planning programs: a day camp, a leadership program, and an outreach program for at-risk youth. See how these programs are shaping tomorrow’s community leaders today.
