PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Successful candidate will manage and oversee the activities and operations of the Planning and Economic Development Division within the Department of Development, including planning, zoning, and economic development projects; will coordinate assigned activities with other city departments and outside agencies; and will perform responsible supervisory, managerial and professional work related to development, zoning, economic development, economic incentives, comprehensive planning and utilization of land. Requirements: five years of experience in urban planning or community development, including two years of administrative and supervisory experience; and a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning or related field. Masters Degree is preferred. Experience requirements may be reduced if candidate has received a Graduate Degree in a relevant field. Salary range: $4,015 to $5,622 per month; excellent benefits. Community Development Director
City of Pleasant Hill, Iowa

Applicant must possess a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, planning, or related field. A minimum of three years of progressively responsible leadership experience in a municipal agency is required. Background should include strong administrative and supervisory experience, computer knowledge, knowledge of current engineering practices and relevant laws. The director is a pivotal member of the city's management team. Under general administrative direction of the city manager, performs a wide variety of professional and specialized duties in development, projects, and programs. Oversees capital improvement program, long range planning, development, and construction management. Pre-employment physical and drug screen required. Salary range $ 70,000 - $ 80,000 annually depending upon qualifications. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits.
